genetic testing

Harley is the only available puppy out of this litter.  He's a great little guy and lives with the little puppies that havn't found their loving forever home.  He's heftier in body, would rather play with them than not, getting along wonderfully.

I have to say this.

So many people contact me and say ... but I only want a pet, why do you have to do all of that and charge $1800+ for your puppies?  (I hear this a lot).

the little puppies had their first shot, check up and worming on saturday.  I guess since I'm so into doggies I listen to people in the waiting room.  Sure enough the elderly man had an elderly lab that has two cataracts.  Her eyes where completely blinded and white from the cataracts.  She was in for over night testing for her actual "ailment."  I felt sad for him.  He and his wife are spending so much money on keeping her comfortable while suffering with this ailment that I don't know what it was.  I'm thinking to myself ... if your dog's parents had been testing CERF you wouldn't have a blinded dog in yours and hers elderly age.

Genetic Testing
We genetically test our poodles for things like "cataracts"
our puppies will not have these ailments, their parents don't have it and neither will their offsprings.

just had to say
