we must be getting close
I'm questioning my methods with this temperature taking ... so,

I looked up a couple of litter(s) for my own peace of mind.  If you study it you'll see it works

stays at 99-100 degrees in between the drops

Grace's litter
October 6th 11am, 98.4
October 9th 11am, 98.7
October 9th 4pm, 98.9
three days later,
October 12th 9am, 98.7
October 12th 4:30pm, 98.7
October 12th 8pm, 98.3
October 12th 4am, 98.9
puppies born October 13th, 6am

Grace's 1st litter
January 24th 2pm, 97.3
January 25th 2pm, 98.6
puppies born January 26th, 9am
hence each litter is different

Hilde's litter
April 1st 10am, 96.8
April 1st 7pm, 98.5
April 2nd 3am, 97.8
April 2nd 7am, 98.6
puppies born April 3rd, 12:15am

ah-ha! glad I keep records ... well on a couple of the litters
Taking the time to chart the temperatures does work.  It takes patience and diligence, but it does work.

today?
La Roux is starting to refuse food, that's a biggy
we are sleeping a lot today, she slept without moving for two hours
puppies were acrobats and she just slept through it

waiting for the temp drop, will let you know when it does
she's holding her tail away from her body at the base,
she's very snuggly, wants to lay on my foot
goes in and lays in her whelping area, comes out, walks around, goes outside to potty, comes back, lays quietly & sleeps

so far, La Roux is staying between 99-100
she has many times of 99.1, she has not been over 100.1 since July 19th at 8pm when she was 101.1.  If that's as low as she's going we will find out pretty soon.
