could be! we will have puppies in about ten days
whoo-hoo
she's starving! goes outside in the morning, pees and comes in looking for her morning special meal yum Stella & Chewy's
can't see the puppies moving around yet ... that's the next milestone, she lays flat on her side which is perfect for her timing right now. Her temperature is at a very slow decline. A week ago it was 100.6, two days ago 100.4, today 100.3. This is her first litter so if she's that reliable that would be awesome. The day she goes into labor she will refuse food. Hence the necessity of the special meal, when I can give her delicious food in the morning and she turns her nose up to the food, it's the first sign she's going into labor. Once she drops to 96-97 for a couple of readings the first puppy should be born within 12-24 hours. That's when we just have to keep the people calm... augh, not always easy. When I sound worried and anxious it's usually her body temperature is dropping and her body is getting serious. I get so connected to the mommas at this point, I get sick to my stomack, I get anxious, I have an urge to clean and get the house ready for no sleep for about a week, so funny, labor is contagious. Momma and puppies are within ear shot for the first ten days. I'm jumping up out of bed with every sound at night, I spend movie watching and reading in my bedroom to stay within ear shot. I don't allow people coming over the last week she's due and not until the puppies are over ten days old. Puppies are very temperature sensitive the first ten days old, momma gets wound up easily which will give puppies diaherria, hope you understand we don't allow visitors for about three weeks.
have a great weekend, weather man says will get cooler and less humid for the inland empire tomorrow so that will be nice.
