La Roux is 9 wks tomorrow, wowzer and she looks like it too

saturday her girth went down to 21" a 1/2" decrease

this afternoon it's almost 23"

temperature is even keel at 100.6

there's an indent under her rib cage and ballooned tummy


I should groom her and shave her down, I just don't want to put undo stress on her and make her think she should start heavy labor,  I'd like to wait until at least friday to shave her down, just in case it gets things going

as the puppies shift and get into position and grow in birth size and weight, her girth changes from morning to night.  As her body gets ready for delivery her girth decreases as the puppies drop but goes up and down so tough to catch the last measurement.

her attitude is happy and she's hungry

she pauses every once in a while and looks at her tummy

I don't see she will have any problems having the puppies

I'm thinking Day 61 is saturday and we might have puppies this weekend, I'm guessing by the 23rd.  She's a small moyen girl with a bunch of puppies in there.

... but like I said ... keep the people calm  -  LOL

if I go exactly from day one breeding with the canine pregnancy calendar, her Day 63 is July 23rd.  If I add two days for what we usually do for a more accurate date, it's July 25th.  After a dam's first litter we can count backwards from the day the puppies are born and know better what day La Roux actually conceives.  Grace usually breeds 1-2 times and it seems not to count.  La Roux could have conceived the very first day ... hence the guessing...
