Harley is one great little guy

Hunter

got an update on Hunter now Rowan
seems he had coccidia when his stool was tested

weird... not for you but for me.... I just took in the fourth stool sample and no comment from the vets.  We rang them but they had already closed.  I will call them again tomorrow and ask why they aren't testing these stool samples at $36 a shot.  They should be picking up these puppies' stool samples if their owners are saying that's what they were tested for.

Hattie now Nutmeg

She's in a very wonderful loving home.  We are so happy for our new puppy owners.  I screen people pretty good to make sure all of our puppies go to homes (for example) like little Hattie's family.

genetic testing

Harley is the only available puppy out of this litter.  He's a great little guy and lives with the little puppies that havn't found their loving forever home.  He's heftier in body, would rather play with them than not, getting along wonderfully.

I have to say this.

So many people contact me and say ... but I only want a pet, why do you have to do all of that and charge $1800+ for your puppies?  (I hear this a lot).

the little puppies had their first shot, check up and worming on saturday.  I guess since I'm so into doggies I listen to people in the waiting room.  Sure enough the elderly man had an elderly lab that has two cataracts.  Her eyes where completely blinded and white from the cataracts.  She was in for over night testing for her actual "ailment."  I felt sad for him.  He and his wife are spending so much money on keeping her comfortable while suffering with this ailment that I don't know what it was.  I'm thinking to myself ... if your dog's parents had been testing CERF you wouldn't have a blinded dog in yours and hers elderly age.

Genetic Testing
We genetically test our poodles for things like "cataracts"
our puppies will not have these ailments, their parents don't have it and neither will their offsprings.

just had to say

Popular questions with puppies going home

Puppies need smaller doses for their dhpp shots, hence the "puppy shots".  It's a series of three shots that should be given 3-4 weeks apart.  This litter has had their first.  He/she needs to be wormed (hmm, well wed) two weeks from last worming, always worm them twice.  I had the puppies stools tested and they did not have any parasites.  The trip, new location, other dogs, etc. can cause he/she to pick something up.  Please remember to do a stool sample with your vet and have a complete check (parasites, giardia).  This should be done on their annual dhpp booster every year.  The last shot is her rabies shot.  It will last one year.  At one year of age puppy needs a "3 year" rabies.

The sheet that comes with your puppy packet was their check up with the vet.  Puppy got their first puppy shot and wormed.  I suggest 3-4 weeks later her next puppy shot.  I do not suggest giving her a rabies shot and bordetella and dhpp and heartworm ... which will overload their immune system and can cause a weak-healthy dog.

so that's really all.  I take my poodles in for a complete physical every three years with a blood panel to catch anything that may be going arye.  It's not cheap but it's worth it.  Grace & Everad have had their complete physicals being older.  Hilde is due this year for hers.  Both Grace & Everad have been tested clear for addisons.  I get doubtful comments from this blog when saying that.  The blood panel will show any type of infection.  I strongly suggest it.

I genetically test our poodles to be clear for breeding.   La Roux had a blood panel and was pristine.  Addisons is fairly common in standard poodle, hence why we breed the moyens (sometimes directly minis and standards).  It gives them diversity and extremely low COI (inbreeding).

Use your common sense with your vet, don't let them give puppy an overload of shots and/or treatments at a time, many doggies have passed from doing that.  I do not give our poodles heartworm medicine I test them annually.

Please feed your puppy only a high quality holistic/organic dog food.  I love the lamb bones but I don't like the raw chicken necks.  The lamb bones are very difficult to get but are the best ever.

new pictures of Poppa Viktor

it's very warm here today, Viktor is good about staying out of the sun when it's so hot

9.5 weeks old

Puppies are 9.5 weeks old

Monday Hannah and Hunter go to their wonderful loving forever homes.  We will miss them, but at 10 weeks old they are ready to bond and become excellent little companions to their new families.

"H" puppies watching as we are clip faces and take pictures of the puppies this morning.  They've been out and about 2.5 hours, they are shaven and cleaned and put into the safe zone.  That's Hunter on the right and Harley on the left.  Silly puppies the potty park really isn't a park to lay on.  I have the hammack in there too to lay on and the puppy pool, but they do prefer the grass.

Hannah
weighed 7# 5oz today
her hair is so fine under her eyes it tough to get it clipped close, then she plays in the water, then the dirt ... looks like she has goopy eyes and she does not.  Here's a freshened face trim for her new family.  She's like ... ok, but I still don't like it .. LOL, sorry baby you are a poodle

probably Harley

Irina on the left, Hannah and Harley

Harley is available
weighed 8# 10oz today
He's the sweetest, calm boy.  He gets stressed out and he opens his mouth to let out the stress.  He's a great little guy.  Just sits and gets trimmed up.  After we are done a big sigh.  He has a stocky body like his daddy, he will be 18" about 25# this his european stocky body.

comfortable in Jim's arms after getting a bath

Hunter is showing how we weigh the puppies.  Usually the larger puppies max out this scale, shows how small these guys are.

Hunter, first shave
weighed 7# 5oz today
just like his daddy, we also see his momma in those eyes.  He's a playful, sweet guy.  He follows us around, plays with the big and little puppies fine.  He's a sweetheart and what a beauty.

he's like ... really?

Hannah
ok, have to tell you the funniest thing tonight.
Harley got a sticker in his foot.  I put down the camera to pick  him up and take it out of his foot.  I saw Hannah look at the camera, all of a sudden she grabs the wrist thingy and runs with it.  She was from the garage to the other side of the front door ... hmm, 25-30' ... within seconds.  I was laughing at her trying to get my camera as it's clanking along the cement.  It was so funny!

oh I have to send this to Jerry & Gerry, this is Hannah

and more photogenic Hannah
